Tämä hieno aihio löytyi silloisesta lähimetsästämme Keravan Päivölänlaaksosta. Veistos syntyi kun veistettyäni kaiken lahonneen puun pois mäntyjuurakon kärjestä, huomasin sen muistuttavan linnun päätä. Samalla tavalla tulivat esiin linnun jalat veistoaihion alaosasta. Kuin itsestään, veistoksesta tuli haikaraa muistuttava lintu.
This fine preform I found in a forest near our home at that time in Päivölänlaakso, Kerava. This sculpture formed when, after having carved out all the rotten parts from the tip of a pine root, I realized it was in the shape of a bird’s head. The same happened with the other end; out came legs. So just like that, this piece organically formed into a heron-like bird.
